HSM3 cast confirmed; sort of
Even though it hasn’t been officially confirmed we now can pretty much assume that there will be no changes to the cast of High School Musical for the third movie. Ashley Tisdale confirmed to OK! Magazine that they haven’t officially signed but that they will all be signing and that the story will take place in senior year.
As I said this isn’t really a surprise; there were some rumours that Vanesse Hudgens wouldn’t return for High School Musical 3 because of the naked pictures that leaked onto the internet. It’s close to being forgotten by now and Disney wouldn’t let something like that come in its way of making a profit. I doubt a High School Musical 3 without Vanessa would do very well, she’s just part of the story so she can’t really be replaced.
This is giong to be the first cinematic release for High School Musical after the big success of the first two TV movies. It’s hard to tell whether it will be a success or not, the opening week probably will be a success the weeks after that would be the real test.
The shooting is set to start in February though that’s still something that isn’t certain. The script apparently isn’t finished yet and with the WGA strike still going on it’s hard to tell if the script will be done in time.
