Ellen Page in Jane Eyre
Variety reports that Ellen Page has signed on to star in (yet another) movie adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. The movie will be produced by the same people as The Other Boleyn Girl (Ruby Films and BBC Films). The screenplay was written by Moira Buffini, at this time there is no director.
Ellen sure likes to keep busy with movie projects recently; there’s nothing wrong with that. Her career is booming right now after Juno so this is the time for her to work.
I haven’t seen The Other Boleyn Girl yet so I don’t know how I would rate that movie but it would be a good indication of the quality of producer. Period drama’s are always a difficult thing, not everyone is interested in seeing them. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad movie to do, it’s just a movie which gets less attention from the general public.
