Destiny Hope is no more
Even though it was announced long before today, it only just has become official. Destiny Hope Cyrus is no more, long live Miley Ray Cyrus.
Destiny Hope was of course her birthname for the people that didn’t know, she was just always called Miley. The Ray is in there to honour her grandfather (though it of course is also her father’s middle name).
The name change still had to be made official by a judge, the Cyrus family also had to run a number of ads in the newspaper saying that they wanted the name change. Her parents were officially the ones who asked for the name change seeing Miley herself can’t do it yet. Billy Ray has said that he wanted to talk her out of changing her name though I had a feeling he said that as a joke when he said it. If he really didn’t want it to happen I don’t think it would have happened.
This of course means that the name change is just in time for Miley to get her license, which she should be getting later this month. I’m still someone who doesn’t think that letting 15 ½ year old teenagers drive is a good idea though. But it’s allowed in California and I don’t live there so not really my problem.
And yes, yet another Miley Cyrus posting, not my fault there isn’t that much news on anyone else.
