Michelle is fast

Friday, June 6th, 2008

In these days of high gas prices car companies are still introducing cars which aren’t exactly fuel efficient. So now Dodge introduced its new Challenger they decided to have a celebrity drag race to celebrate this event.

Not really big news but it’s somewhat funny that Michelle Trachtenberg managed to beat Snoop Dogg in a drag race. So there are people that can drive fast in a car without crashing them.

Though as Snoop Dogg said: “If there was police on my ass, I would have beat you all!” It’s quite well known that Snoop Dogg frequently visits Holland to enjoy the local herbs for which you can get into trouble in the US.

Sunday the 8th of June ABC Family will air her movie The Circuit.

Michelle going on Gossip Girl

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Michelle Trachtenberg has signed on to do a story arc on the CW show Gossip Girl. Michelle will play Georgina Sparks, a character which also appears in the novels the show is based on. It’s a girl who comes out of rehab and shakes up and tortures the life of the main character Serena van der Woodsen. The role was first supposed to be done by Mischa Barton but she refused the role.

I first have to point that I personally think that Gossip Girl sucks though that doesn’t really matter seeing many people seem to like it. It’s just a couple of episodes so it’s not exactly something new to Michelle, she did something similar on Six Feet Under a couple of years ago. Just do a limited number of episode of a running show. So this is probably just a side gig between movie roles for Michelle. Not something that will influence her career positively but also not something that will influence it negatively.

Edition 34: Falling Starlets 2007

Friday, December 7th, 2007

As promised last week here’s the list of falling starlets of 2007. So mainly the people that have been going down on the Hollywood ladder. I’m fairly certain that there will be more people that disagree witht his one than with the Rising Starlets 2007 list from last week. The premise is the same in this case though, these views are only based on one opinion and that’s mine. I could of course be completely wrong and some of them might have dozens of secret projects lined up. But looking at the current situation the list comes out as this:

Michelle Trachtenberg joins 17

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

It has been a while but Michelle Trachtenberg has finally signed on to a new movie project. She’s set to co-sar in the high school comedy 17. The story is about a middle-aged man played by Matthew Perry who wakes up and turns out to be 17 at which point he’ll be played by Zac Efron. Michelle Trachtenberg plays his daughter who gets a crush on her father when he enrols in the same high school to keep an eye on his kids.

Right now any movie is good for Michelle’s career really, there wasn’t exactly a lot on her schedule. Though I have my doubts about the originality of this movie, there just have been to many movies about people that suddenly are a different age,.

Edition 18: Once TV, Always TV?

Friday, August 10th, 2007

It’s commonly known that it’s hard to break out of the TV world and enter the big screen world. In a lot of cases it’s because they’re identified with their TV roles, in some other cases it’s because of a limited amount of talent. I could start with listing a huge list of examples but I’m not going to do that. I would like to focus on just two, one a bit older and the other one very current.

Michelle Trachtenberg is best known for her part of Dawn Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After the show she continued to mainly star in movies; larger productions, independent productions and also some TV movies. Basically just doing a decent selection of roles; gaining experience. She just never really had movies where she really stood out. It’s not that she did extremely bad or just can’t act; none of the roles were that challenging really.

But for any actress that wants to be successful you just need a blockbuster once in a while. So the most logical step after doing independent productions is doing bigger movies. However Michelle seems to be taking a different road now, she was supposed to star in a new TV show. But this project The Hill has been shelved for now. The next project that will be released is an animated movie that has been in the making for decades, Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Apparently there’s a big fanbase for this movie, but seeing it took this long to produce my bet would be that it flops with the general public.
