True Jackson, VP

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Keke Palmer’s new Nickelodeon show has been picked up, the title was changed from True Fashion which was used for the pilot to True Jackson, VP. For the people that don’t know what it is about, it’s about fifteen year old True Jackson who’s made the head of the youth division of a fashion label.

I still have reservations about this show concept; it’s just not very realistic (and before people start complaining again I’m aware of the fact that it’s a TV show). With kids shows like this however I think there should be a sense of realism, that it’s possible for a teenager or kid to achieve something similar. Simple fact is that an average teenager will never be made head of a fashion label.

The title change doesn’t seem like a very good one to me, True Fashion also suggested what the show is about, True Jackson, VP does that as well in some way but to me True Fashion just sounds better. Though I’m sure Nickelodeon has used focus groups and did some research to decide on the final title.

True Fashion for Keke

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Keke Palmer has joined the casts of the pilot True Fashion for Nickelodeon. The show will be about a 15-year old girl who becomes the head of the teen division of a major fashion label. She learns that running a fashion label has the same high and lows as high school though it of course has its perks.

Honestly I can’t see this show working at all, of course there are some wacky teen TV shows out there with things like aliens, wizards or whatever, there’s a fantasy and scifi aspect in that. The thing with this just is that no fashion label would put a fifteen year old in charge of anything unless it’s a teen star starting her own label.

Of course you can never know what it will turn out to be, it should be remembered that the last show from the producer (though this wasn’t for Nickelodeon) was cancelled after just one season. It’s just a pilot anyway so no guarantee that the show will ever make it to air.

Disneymania 6

Monday, May 26th, 2008

After recently having done Starletviews first CD review here follows the second one. Every year Disney releases the so called Disneymania CD’s, this year they’re up to number six. All songs on the album are old Disney songs from various movies. Some of the songs are changed though, so things like melodies and pace. So I’m not really going to judge this one on lyrics seeing they had no role in picking the lyrics.

Showbiz Kids Top 25

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Last month Hollywood Reporter put out a list called Showbiz Kids Top 25, it’s a bit slow regarding news right now so lets take a look at the list. Hollywood Reporter is a serious publication so there is some merit to their opinions. Hollywood Reporter pretty much made a list of people active in Hollywood seventeen and under who they think have the biggest chance of making it big in Hollywood in the long run. The focus of this site is the female generation in Hollywood so I’m just going to highlight those in the list.

1. Miley Cyrus
2. Abigail Breslin
3. Dakota Fanning
4. Emma Watson
5. Emma Roberts

6. Cole and Dylan Sprouse
7. Freddie Highmore
8. Kristen Stewart
9. The Jonas Brothers
10. AnnaSophia Robb
11. Josh Hutcherson
12. Madison Pettis
13. Noah Gray-Cabey
14. Mark Indelicato
15. Angus T. Jones
16. Josh Flitter
17. Kyle Massey
18. Miranda Cosgrove
19. Jamie Lynn Spears

20. Spencer Breslin
21. Keke Palmer
22. Alex Etel
23. Nat and Alex Wolff
24. Selena Gomez
25. Liam Aiken

In general there aren’t any real shockers in that list though I didn’t know some of the names. I can’t know everyone in Hollywood after all, it shows that the list was made before all of the Jamie Lynn pregnancy stuff, I doubt they would have put her on the list if it had be known before that. The top five is pretty much a shoe in on the list so there’s just not a lot I can say about this list, Hollywood Reporter did their homework. Not that I doubted them in that regard, they serve as a valuable news source to this site.
