Taylor Swift - Fearless

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

I first have to point out that I’ve never really listened to Taylor’s music. So this review isn’t going to contain any comparison to her debut album.

Lets start with some basics; Taylor is a country singer. The thing wit hthe new generation of music artists is that the differences between genres are fading. You can rarely call someone pure pop, rock, country or any other genre anymore. The same is true for Taylor’s Fearless. Sure there will always be a certain country “twang” to her music as people call it. People that aren’t into country music will also be listening to her music though. (more…)

Don’t Forget

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Demi Lovato has dropped her first album called Don’t Forget. There are a total of eleven songs on the album totaling about 38 minutes but my problem with far too short albums is already known; everyone does it anyway. A large portion of the album was co-written by the Jonas Brothers who Demi was opening for on their tour and of course also knew from Camp Rock. Her reason for doing this is that she says that songs written by her wouldn’t be Disney material; she’s more into metal. (more…)

Miley Cyrus’ Breakout

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Miley’s first real solo album has now been released; her first two albums made it to number one on the charts but with the first Hannah Montana Soundtrack it was just as Hannah and with Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus it was a double disc. Miley has stated the album is The Killers and Melissa Etheridge inspired, we’ll have to see if that’s an accurate assessment.

the iCarly soundtrack

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Nickelodeon released the soundtrack for iCarly Music From and Inspired by the Hit TV Show. It includes a massive 35 tracks but don’t be fooled , half of those are just short clips of the cast talking about the songs on the album. I somewhat expected Jennette McCurdy to be on one of the tracks, guess not every single actress is being pushed into singing after all.

The rest are songs but only five of those include the star of the show Miranda Cosgrove even though the cover would suggest a bigger involvement. I’ll be focusing on her contributions seeing most of the other songs are by better known bands and are just stuck on there to fill the tracklist.
