Brittany in the Clock Tower

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Finally some actual news again; guess it’s quiet in summer. Brittany Snow is going to star in the video game adaptation Clock Tower. The movie will be directed by Martin Weisz; shooting will start in November.

The story is about a troubled psychiatric patient (I’m guessing this would be Brittany’s role) who witnesses the death of parents and is constantly haunted by religious images.

So the storyline is quite vague but it’s obviously a horror movie, however what I don’t like is that it’s a video game adaptation. There are very few of those that actually work, the video game industry might be big but there are still enough people that don’t play them so chances are a movie like this won’t mean anything to them.

Then again if the story itself is strong enough it won’t matter; people wouldn’t care whether it was based on a video game or not.

Brittany Snow is also in talks to star in another movie: Breaking the Girl. That’s all that it is though, talks. So no official confirmations yet.

Brittany, Amanda and Lindsay against Miley

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Have Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes and Brittany Snow teamed up against Miley Cyrus? No they’re not turning against Miley because of the Vanity Fair pictures; this is another episode in the YouTube dance battle between the dance crews ACDC (Step Up director John Chu and Adam Sevani) and M&M Cru with a U (Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux).

While the first they made just consisted of dancers the new one also features celebrities, amongst these are some people of the Hairspray cast (in this case Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow and Elijah Kelley) but also Lindsay Lohan and her galpal (somehow I hate that term) Samantha Ronson. Of those the biggest part is probably for Lindsay, including one where she knocks over two cardboard cut-outs of Hannah Montana. There actually are far more celebrities in the video but I’m not going to name them all.

As for the video itself, all those celebrities being in there is actually problem if you ask me. While the M&M video basically only had Channing Tatum as a celebrity, John and Adam tried to stick as many as possible in there. It just makes it more a parade of celebrities than an actual dance video. The dancing is of course of the highest level but the video itself just doesn’t really work for me, I actually think their first video was better.

Of course it took time to produce this video; seeing it only took a couple of days for the Miley & Mandy response to come online I don’t know if that will be the case this time. Mandy is away with her new band the Beach Girlz while Miley is in Tennessee for the Hannah Montana Movie rehearsals. So if they have the response prepared (which I think was the case last time) it will only take a couple of days. Otherwise we won’t see a response for another couple of months.

Edition 17: The Bad Habit

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Mischa Barton, Thora Birch, Kaley Cuoco, Elisha Cuthbert, Kirsten Dunst, Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Lindsay Lohan, Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, Hayden Panettiere, Natalie Portman, Brittany Snow and Michelle Trachtenberg. Those are the names linked on starletlinks.com that are proven to be smokers. This means that of the names linked on the site in the age category over 16, 35% smokes. This is higher than the average in the normal population, the normal number for women in the United States is 22%.

Some things I have to say before going further into this is that these are the people that are proven to smoke. There might be others that do a very good job of hiding it. And of course I also don’t know how much these people smoke, they could be social smokers. But one thing is certain, they do smoke. Personally I think it’s a horrible habit; though I have personal reasons for that. But I don’t think any less of people that do smoke.

But why is the percentage of smokers so high in Hollywood? And why do they start so young? I think there are multiple reasons, I remember an interview with Shannon Doherty, she’s way past the starlet age but it does show a point. She once had to smoke in a role; she liked it so she kept doing it. I don’t know how often this happens but it shows it does happen.

At first she denied it but these days she can be spotted holding a cigarette quite frequently.
