Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Variety reports that Anne Hathaway is set to star alongside Kate Hudson in the comedy Bride Wars. The story is about two best friends who get into a fight when their wedding dates clash and neither wants to give in. They’re competing for the same guests, venues and services; hence the name Bride Wars. Hudson will always be producing the movie. The movie will be shot in early 2008, the script was completed before the writers strike started.

This sounds like quite a standard comedy at first glance; though with a combination of Hudson and Hathaway it will probably do well at the box office. There’s nothing wrong with doing an uncomplicated comedy once in a while in a career.

Anne Hathaway Dancing With Sheba

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007
Anne Hathaway has signed up to star in the dark comedy Dancing With Sheba. It’s a dark comedy from Silence of the Lambs director Johathan Demme. Anne will play a model that comes out of an eight month rehab stint, after being in and out for ten years, to attend her sister’s wedding.

This is a bit of a change for Anne, seeing she mostly plays the nice girl on screen. She never really played a bad girl, in some parts of the Devil Wears Prada she might have tried but that didn’t really work. Getting into a role that’s darker will expand her horizons a bit.

The general details about the story and cast aren’t that clear yet, the only other person confirmed on the cast list is Debra Winger. A minor problem with this project is Anne’s age, she isn’t really old enough to have been in rehab for ten years. So we’ll have to see how this project is being developed, but they already have a good director and that’s good start.

P.S. Yes we’re continuing tweaking starletviews.com concept, the newsflashes will be gone for now. If one of the starlets gets a new movie role offered or has a new album coming out will be commenting on it a bit more extensive. So basically analysing the real news and not the gossip which seems to be the main hobby of some blogs and media.
