Anna Paquin and a Cockroach
Anna Paquin has signed on to play a part in a movie adaptation of Franz Kafka’s novel Metamorphosis. Starring will be Daniel Bruhl, an actor who made his name through the name Goodbye Lenin. The movie will be directed by Limor Diamant.
I’m not sure how they’re going to turn this thing into a movie; a guy turns into a cockroach. I read the book and I’m not quite sure in what way they’re going to use the original story in that. It has a decent budget for this kind of movie though, so who knows they might surprise us.
But this is the road Anna seems to be taking, be in smaller movies instead of the bigger ones (some exceptions here and there of course). And if she’s happy doing that I think it’s fine, there at least is a clear structure in her career.

Here is an interesting synopsis of the film from IMDB:
Metamorphosis captures an intense and exciting period of the young FRANZ KAFKA’s life, while he creates his masterpiece The Metamorphosis about a man that wakes up one morning transformed into a gigantic cockroach. When he meets the romantic and idealist Felice, he’s quickly caught in an intense and passionate love story that turns his life upside down. The film takes us into the fantastic mind, passion and madness of one of the most influential and important writers in modern literature.
It has a parallel account on the book Metamorphosis but this film will portray Franz Kafka’s life and his romance with FELICE which is going to play by Anna…
